Representative :
...Stephanie
Landregan, ASLA
...Mountains Recreation and Conservation
Authority
...Phone (323) 221-8900
...E-mail stephanie.landregan@mrca.ca.gov
As
Chief Landscape Architect for the Mountains Recreation and
Conservation Authority, Ms. Landregan works with agency departments,
federal and state agencies and to develop the agency's 85,000
acres into parks, trailheads, nature centers and overlooks.
Ms. Landregan also represents the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy,
a sister agency with the MRCA, in matters needing a licensed
landscape architect. She conducts public community consensus
meetings as well as presents to boards and commissions as
required by projects. As lead designer for the agency, Ms.
Landregan prepares designs, construction documents, and oversees
the quality and consistency of all projects. Ms. Landregan
has worked with the many communities of Los Angeles County
- from Elysian Park, South Central Los Angeles, East Los Angeles,
the San Fernando Valley, Baldwin Hills, Cities of Compton,
Glendale, Santa Clarita, San Fernando, Burbank, and Calabasas,
among others - to create sustainable parks, exhibits and interpretive
outdoor spaces. The Augustus F. Hawkins Natural Park, final
design and construction observation by Ms. Landregan, was
featured in Landscape Architecture Magazine, April 2002. This
park is located in South Central Los Angeles and has won national
and international attention for its community-involved design,
craftsmanship and sustainability.
Ms.
Landregan's current projects include a collaborative design
with Mia Lehrer + Associates on the Vista Hermosa Park, a
unique synergistic design that merges a natural park with
the Central City High School No. 10 in Los Angeles. This park
incorporates sustainable design features such as solar generated
energy, pervious paving, green roofs and on-site cistern to
recycle onsite water. She is working on the boards in partnership
with the California State Parks on the West Mulholland Gateway
Park. This park design incorporates state of the art sustainable
designed features such as porous concrete, a composting toilet,
streambed restoration and storm water management. Ms. Landregan
and the community of Elysian Park are in the process of designing
Marsh Street Park, a small riverfront community park along
the Los Angeles River.
